Moby Wrap - My son has a really big personality and a really big voice to go along with it. He is extremely vocal about what he wants, and most of the time, his number one want is to be held. Holding a baby can be an amazingly peaceful thing, but holding a baby 247 is not only impractical, it can also drive you a little nuts. That is why I loved the Moby Wrap. It allowed me to carry my son with me and still have my hands free without overly straining my poor arms.
Baby Items You Don’t Need: There were some baby purchases I made that I didn’t end up using, found a better alternative for, or that just didn’t work like they were supposed to. Here is my list of items I wish I didn’t get for my baby: Diaper Pails - When I was deciding on a diaper pail for my nursery, there seemed to be a negative aspect to every pail on the market. Some were expensive and required refill cartridges, others had bad reviews, and the rest required lots of batteries.
Freezer Meals - Cooking with baby can be a challenge, especially if baby wants to be close to you every single second. It helps to have a stash of freezer meals saved up. Nursing Bra - For breastfeeding mothers, we recommend one sleep nursing bra to start (the sleep bras are a more flexible fit) and shopping for more bras once your milk has come in and you know your real size. (What exactly makes nursing bras different from normal ones? The cup unclips from the strap to give baby access.)
Other nice-to-haves: Secure Safety Gates, Fun Baby Toys and Teething Toys, Baby Books, Hard-to-Spill Sippy Cups, Baby Spoons, Toddler Bowls, Baby Food Maker, Furniture Corner Protectors, Baby Safe Bug Sprays & Sunscreens, Plug Socket Covers We hope this article helped you figure out what you really needed. If you don’t get absolutely everything before baby arrives, don’t stress out. Stores will be there after you have the baby (if you have Amazon Prime, you’ve got free two-day delivery to help you out). It may seem overwhelming at first, but you’ll be surprised to see how fast it all comes together. With every item you add, you’ll see it more clearly in your mind’s eye: the safe, cozy home that’s prepared for baby.
